I wasn't able to meet up with my mentor this week due to personal reasons of her own, but I was able to meet up with her yesterday for a total of 3 hours. On Thursday she showed me simple things she does as a medical assistant. You have to sign in every day just like almost every job working in the medical industry. She made me separate different papers in alphabetical order and the appointment times in order so when it is time for a patients appointment to approach, the nurses are already to call out the names without having to organizing them. She made me do really easy things like organize certain papers together and put in on certain folders because she said every person who starts out working always starts off doing simple things. And as you get better with things that are easy is when you start to move up.
